Pakistan’s Economic Survey 2024-25 is set to be unveiled by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in a ceremony on June 9. This annual report provides a comprehensive analysis of the country’s economic performance over the past fiscal year, highlighting growth trends, sectoral achievements, and key challenges.

The survey reveals that Pakistan’s economy grew by 2.68% in FY 2024-25, slightly below earlier projections of 3.6%. The agriculture sector faced setbacks, with major crops like wheat, maize, and cotton experiencing declines, while potato, onion, mango, and sesame recorded strong gains. The industrial sector showed mixed results, with electricity, gas, and water supply rebounding by 28.88%, while large-scale manufacturing contracted by 1.53%.

The services sector expanded by 2.91%, driven by information and communication (6.48%), finance and insurance (3.22%), and public administration (9.92%). Meanwhile, Pakistan’s economy now stands at Rs. 114.7 trillion (US$ 410.96 billion), with per capita income rising to Rs. 509,174 (US$ 1,824).
